Hi all,

I do a volunteer support in my spare time, not much but in my time over the years its added up. Each time I'm asked if I can't do it I just say no and give a brief why.. sometimes Ive sprained my ankle, got appointments etc. Well this one woman just thinks im making excuses... She's just asked me again, you know I'm having probs with my little honey and have loads of appointments next week, so I told her breifly that she's not been well.

Why isn't that good enough for her? ...

Boys vs. Girls

I read an article recently which my MIL sent me. I think it was in the Telegraph.

It stated that adoptive parents went for Girls more than for Boys as Girls were less trouble. Therefore there are more boys out there than there are girls waiting for adoption.

I was a little surprised to read this as I thought it was the other way around!!

Are you choosing a girl over a boy for this reason or is the journalist who wrote this piece wrong?

OMG My poor cat, she's still missing and I've been feeding an imitation. I can't believe how much alike this other cat looks her but Mr Honey also agrees it's not our cat.

It's probably a stray liking the tuna and salmon.

Not sure what to do now. although it does explain why my loving, attention seeking kitten had changed her nature..

During the week, it was agreed via text message, that I would be vacating the shared plot. We all felt that this would be better because if she decided to chuck it all in, I would automatically loose my share immediately because the tenancy is in her name and not mine. Anyway the move would obviously take alot of time as we are talking raised beds and top soil to move, but she agreed to give me space and the last text from her was that I would text her after the weekend, e.g. next Monday, Wednesday ...

I caught one this morning a couple who had adopted two siblings. Lovely to see how happy the family were but was wondering if it was going to highlight the other different types of adopters who are needed, especially for older children who are waiting.

I know that we have been successful with another agency but.......

DH and I went to see a very well known VA a few weeks ago. Had what we thought was a very good 1.5 hours interview and were hopeful.

They said the normal "we will be in touch in 2 weeks" stuff so we waited. patiently - getting good at that!

Approx. 2 weeks later they emailed me to say that if I was prepared to give them my previous (2 years ago - issue all addressed and sorted) counsellors info so they ...

Hi guys,

I'm so sad. You may of read my little honey has been having some problems for a couple of months which we thought was down to her autism.

CAMHS have been fab and are seeing her as a priority.

They now think that she is in pain

They are going to put her on a pain treatment programme next week. I don't have all of the details yet but the plan will be put forward to the community paed who I am seeing on Thursday.

I am also seeing the CAMHS nurse at the beginning ...

thanks for all your messages, I have been so upset about her..

We spotted her in our garden yesterday, I opened the patio doors and she scarpered, traumatised... I don't know what's happened, it might be something todo with the fireworks or being trapped somewhere..

I keep putting food down for her, she has just been and had some, but still petrified and fled when I opened the door.

I just hope she will settle down. At least she knows where her home is.

I hope you don't mind me butting in, I've been reading some of your messages over the last couple of weeks and have just registered today. You sound like a friendly bunch and the more I read the more keen I get on fostering. I wondered if you would give me some advice please.

We have 2 children (boys aged 7 and 5) of our own and my husband has a 12 year old son who comes here alternative weekends. My main concern about fostering is our 3 boys. The type of fostering we were thinking ...

Every year we have the same problem - leaves. The leaves from our neighbours trees take over our front garden every year. Now I don't mind the ones that sort of just blow over but her next door NEVER rakes up her own leaves, which as you can imagine with 3 trees are of quite a significant amount!

Well last week I raked up 16 bags and fortunately managed to get rid of them on Freecycle instead of going to the dump!!

However I had a brain wave on Friday and went to B&Q to buy some chicken ...

She's a young kitty but so inquisitive.

She had already been locked in a side shed for 2 days.. luckily hubby heard her, she even got in my car!

I don't know where she's gone now.. missing for 2 days again.

I will get neighbours to check their sheds but last time I did that somebody up the road had buried my last cat.

2 years ago today, we met our boys for the first time . We were absolutely shattered after a very long life appreciation day, followed straight after by the planning meeting, but I will never forget the first glimpse of two gorgeous little snotty nosed urchins peering at us through the window. We walked (well, almost ran), into FC's house, and just scooped them up for the biggest cuddle ever. Baby Pinks was not yet 1 and big boy Pinks was just turned 2. I can't believe that two whole years ...

I appreciate this is a sensitive subject, although I'm not sure why it is seen as such, IMO FCs do a pretty tough job in many cases and should be rewarded for it.

Anyway, as our 2 continue to settle and we approach our day in court, I am starting to wonder what to do with all the knowledge I have gained in the last 3 years. DH and I went out for lunch on Monday and discussed the possibility of fostering in the future.

Well last year we got tickets for Take That nd took a couple of cherubs, had a great time

And we now have got tickets for Pink whoo.

We are hoping to take 1 of the lads as he is a fan

He does have a tendency to change his mind, so will hopefully start to look forward to it as we have got the tickets

Also as a little treat for me and Trixxie we have tickets for Elton John in Dec Can't wait

We heard this morning that Pickle has got into the special school we had applied to for Y7. Its a great relief because places are always oversubscribed and although we knew we had a good case, we weren't sure if they would have room for her.

I haven't told her yet cos she is at school, but she is going to be so relieved. I haven't stopped smiling.

It's not rocket science is it.. I hate to complain but I have just got my honey's Autumn IEP

Firstly, I like to be involved in them...

Secondly, It has 4 targets, I know it's to make it acheivable for her but to not even have addressed the worst issue she has at the moment.. I'm stunned.. Surely they should of put that on her targets an issue which has needed Community paediatric Doctor and Cahms involvement..

I've been bursting at the seams this week!

I discovered some sleepover sets in Primark, which have been a godsend -they have PJ's, clean pants and socks and a toothbrush in a cute rucksack, so I bought every size, and I have found them very useful. I think there must be some dodgy drugs going around as I've had several unattended children whose parents have been found unconscious this week
