Coronation Street - please complain!

I don't know if anyone else watched Coronation Street last night?

Well Steve and Becky were arguing on the sofa about the recent events as Becky has just discovered she can now never have children (which of course is very very sad and I my heart goes out to anyone in that situation).

Steve calmly suggests that they consider adoption:

STEVE: There are other options you know, we could always look into adoption.

BECKY: How insensitive can you be?

STEVE: Is that insensitive?

BECKY: Could you not just let me get used to this before you start flinging OTHER PEOPLES CAST OFFS AT ME

It's obviously the "other peoples cast offs" that I am fuming at here as adoptiove children are not other peoples cast offs.

This program has been broadcast nationwide, and this is going to be a subject that ITV and the script writers will no doubt be taking alot further.

If enough of us complain about the wording that went out last night, perhaps they will in future consult someone in the know like AUK before continuing to write scripts with inaccuracies that go around upsetting people.

I can just imagine Becky & Steve looking into adoption, going through Home Study in a fews weeks and being approved & matched with a bouncing baby girl (or one of each) before the end of the summer!!
