CWDC .......aaaarrrrrggggghhhh !!!
Hello folks. We are about to start our CWDC training and I am not very happy. My friend who is also staring hers at the same time actually was seriously considering quitting fostering due to the lack of information and support we have recieved.
Is anyone else out there doing thiers and have any idea what we are meant to do? I have never seen such a load of vague twaddle in my life. I am not thick by any means, and have no idea where to start and what they are asking of us. Also, when the hell am I supposed to find time to do it?
Sorry about the rant. Just feeling a little disheartened.

Re: CWDC .......aaaarrrrrggggghhhh !!!
I have done mine. It was an utter waste of time. There were lots of questions and you have to just answer them -things like how to babyproof a room etc
and my favourite bit was a 1cm space to discuss how I would manage a child with violent behaviour!
it isn't difficult, and they will do their best to get you through it as I understand SS get paid £90 for every workbook completed!

Re: CWDC .......aaaarrrrrggggghhhh !!!
Hi, I've completed mine too.
The best way I found to do mine was to add a bit when ssw came round for a visit. My advice would be to get all of your paperwork in order and save any information booklets you get.
Do your contact sheets, diary and log books etc.
I also went through mine by standard.
Good luck.

Re: CWDC .......aaaarrrrrggggghhhh !!!
Cheers guys !!
I did let her know about you. Hopefully she will pop by.
Our link worker is new, and I am not sure how much she knows about the CWDC training, as she did seem a bit unsure. I really don't know how I'm going to fit it in.
Have just spent the morning at A&E with my own 2 year old son who had stuck FOUR Aquabeads up one nostril !!!!
I had two questions, how and why ?????? He could answer neither bless him. Had to take my little foster baby with me who gets bad reflux and she screamed the place down for an hour and a half. You'd have thought they would have seen me quicker, just to keep the peace
My life seems to constantly have stuff to throw at me so I get no time. Oh well, that's children for you.

Yeah, i'm finding it a load of complete nonesence too. It's so hard to understand and comprehend. My SSW told me to just keep it simple, and i would if i understood what it was i'm supposed to do. Definitely something i could happily do without.
