Help with nappy rash
One of the babies has terrible nappy rash and it wont clear up. She's had it a week now and her 'area' looks red raw, really painful looking although she doesn't seem to complain. I'm changing nappies every hour and applying loads of E45. She's at the doctors on Monday so i'll ask for advice then but in the meantime does anyone know of any cures?

Ahh poor thing
Just to keep doing what you are doing until the Doctors.
Have you tried keeping the nappy off as and when possible?
Hope it clears up soon x

Re: Help with nappy rash
A very thin layer of metanium will fix any sort of nappy rash. If it doesn't, it's thrush. Don't put thick layers of anything on as it stops the nappy working efficiently so she will have more contact with the urine. E45 won't really help. metanium is your friend!!

Re: Help with nappy rash
I was going to see use metanium. You can get it in your local tescos for now. Its really good. When I worked in the nurseries, this is what we used to tell parents to buy for their kids and it wouldnt take long for it to clear up. A thin layer at each nappy change should do the trick. Really hope it clears up for her and you x

Re: Help with nappy rash
Thanks guys. As luck would have it the health visitor called in today to see one of the kids and i got her to have a look. She told me it looks fungal (Thrush?) and whatever we put on wont do anything. She was able to prescribe us a specific cream so i went straight down to Boots and got it.
But I'll definitely be getting some of that Metanium you've all mentioned, sounds like a magic cream and a good one to have in the Medicine cupboard.
Thanks again all, big thumbs up.
