Foster Talk or Fostering Network????
Hi all
Just after some advice.
I'm thinking of joining either foster talk or the fostering network and wondered what you all recommend?
Is it necessary to join one of these?
Thanks in advance -
Lucky me :-) x

Re: Foster Talk or Fostering Network????
I was on the tendering panel for our LA for this and we went for Fostertalk as they have a bigger range of services and we also felt that as they have no political or lobbying agenda they were wore focused on the needs of carers. You definitely need some backup, though your agency should provide it-It is part of the fostering standards to provide independent advocacy. If your agency don't, consider getting together with other carers as the group rate is very good.
FostertLk have 24 hr helplines for health, legal, finance, counselling, legal and sw advice. I think they are excellent

Re: Foster Talk or Fostering Network????
Hi Honey....
I'm ok thanks - still got same FC that came in May for one night only lol....
Everything is going ok touch wood - but she does push the boundaries to limit at times... We've had a few rows over things and then she threatens to ring social services ha ha..... it never comes to that she just says it to see if I'll give in and let her have her own way - but she now realises I won't lol....
We have our next LAC review in August so should know more then about how long she will be staying - at the moment it's approved for up to three months but we're almost at that now....
Will keep you posted.
Hope you're ok too???
Lucky me.

p.s thanks for the replies - I will subscribe to foster talk i think It seems the better out of the two x
