Welcome to Adoption and Fostering in the uk
I have started this forum as myself and husband are current foster carers and have adopted a child with complex needs.
I would love to hear about anyone else's journey.
Please come here if you need any help or support or you would just like to share your experiences.

Good luck with your assessment. I would love to chat.
We have a forum meet in march. Pixxie has the details and there is more information in the private forum if your interested/able.
Everyone here is so supportive I'm sure you'll get invaluable advice.
Good luck again.

Great - this looks just like what I am looking for. We started the assessment a few months ago and I am trying to read up as much as possible for all the pro's and cons of being foster carers.
Nothing I have seen so far has put us off in any way.
Our reasons for entering into it ? To bring a bit of light into some childs life and feel we are giving something back.
Looking forward to participating here.

Hello there.. We are adoptive parents to a wee boy that has been with us for a couple of years now. We should probably have joined a forum like this a while ago to share our experiences and get answers to our questions, but to be honest this is the first time we've come up against something we're not too sure about!
But that's for a different topic...
If there are any pre-adoption parents needing any advice, please don't be shy..
Thanks for taking the time to read this

Hi,
We completed our assessment and went to the panel in January and had a placement just 3 weeks ago, we are now currently fostering a 3 yr old girl with view to adopt her as soon as we can legally do so. To be honest it has been quite a difficult few weeks, as I also have a 6 yr old daughter with type 1 diabetes and juggling it all hasn't been easy. Trying to help the little one adapt is hard but hopefully will be worth it in the end

Hi
I think this Forum is a fantastic idea!
Having worked with almost 200 hundred Foster Carers subject to complaints and Allegations we know that Carers sometimes feel very alone and isolated!
It's great that there is somewhere they can come and share their thoughts and feelings without fear or reprisals or judgment!
Keep up the good work
Katie

Helloooo i am a newbie
Hi
i have been enthralled by your forum for the last few evenings and decided to join ,we' re nearing the end of our assessment and due to go to panel soon . we dont have children of our own and are looking forward to giving a home to some children in need of our support its always good to try and give something back but i hope we will love it ,tho i know it will be a massive change
The process has been eye opening and LONG but worthwhile ( fingers crossed ) some of the comments on your forum are very interesting so its been good to get a real idea of what we can expect Lioness
